A new version has been released

Version 6 of ESET Remote Administrator (ERA) and ESET business products were released in North America December 11th, 2014, and globally February 25th, 2015. This article applies to version 5.x and earlier ESET business products. For information about what's new in the latest version and how to upgrade, see the following article:

ESET NOD32 Antivirus Business Edition 4.2 and later: In most cases, when you install version 5 ESET endpoint products over your current solution your settings / configurations will automatically carry over to the new installation.

ESET NOD32 Antivirus Business Edition 4.0.x and earlier: You will need to export an .xml configuration to use as reference when configuration your newly installed endpoint products (settings do not carry over automatically):

I. Download your ESET endpoint product

Before downloading

  1. Click the appropriate link below to download your ESET endpoint product for Microsoft® Windows® 10/8/7/Vista/Home Server/XP/2000:

  2. If prompted, enter your ESET-issued Username and Password. Select Save when prompted and save the file to the Desktop.

Uninstall previously installed antivirus software

Running two antivirus products on the same computer can degrade performance and cause system instability. It is important that any previously installed antivirus software is uninstalled from your system before installing your ESET endpoint product. Please see our list of uninstallers (removal tools) for common antivirus software.

II. Install your ESET endpoint product

4.0.x. or earlier

If your client workstations are running version 4.0.x or ealier of ESET endpoint products, you should first uninstall before installing version 5:

Follow the steps below to install your ESET endpoint product. If you are running Windows with User Account Control (UAC) turned on (Windows Vista or later), you may be prompted with additional dialog boxes not shown in the steps below. If prompted, please confirm that you wish to install ESET, as well as any associated device drivers.

    • The hyphen in the username is necessary
    • The password is ten characters long and all lowercase
    • If you are copying and pasting, make sure you don't select an extra blank space
    • We do not use the letter L in passwords (use the number one (1) instead)
